Dog Seat Belts Keep You And Your Dog Safer While Driving
You're wondering why a dog would need a dog seat belt when riding in a car, aren't you?
Dog seat belts will keep Rover safe and keep YOU safer while driving so your dog doesn't come flying over the seat in an accident.

A dog car harness will protect you while driving. A frightened dog can jump into the front seat, getting tangled up in the driver's feet or distracting the driver in other ways, which can cause an accident. If you ARE in an accident, your dog will not be thrown around your car or SUV which may hurt the dog or frighten him even more.
Reasons To Use Dog Seat Belts:
* Reduce injury to your pet in an accident
* Reduce injury to YOU if the dog comes flying over the seat
* Help paramedics by keeping your dog restrained
* Prevent driver distraction
* Your dog can't jump out the window
If you already know that you want a seat belt for your dog, you'll find lots of choices. Buckle your dog in, or let him or her roam the back seat on a tether. Booster dog car seats are also a very cute option, keeping your dog safely buckled in while still allowing him or her to look outside and see what's going on.
It's also a good idea to have seat covers for dogs as well. They protect your car or SUV seats from scratches, hair and muddy paws.
Whether your dog is tiny, medium or very large, there are dog seat belts that will fit!

Want to let your dog roam in the back seat while safely tethered? Use car zip lines.
They let dogs pace from left to right in the back seat, yet are still restrained and safe during sudden stops.

Awwww, what a cute way to travel in the car!
This pet booster seat is adorable and keeps your dog safe in the car while giving him a clear view outside. It installs quickly and easily right next to you in the front seat and holds up to 30 pounds.
A tether on the inside of the seat helps keep Fido restrained and reduces driver distraction, yet your puppy is still close enough for a pat on the head.

- Great lens. I don't think people think of/realize how necessary this is. My dog, Zeus, and I were in a nasty rollover accident once, and because he was in a carrier (not seat-belted, tho), all he suffered was a bad fright. I now have a carrier that straps into the seat belt.

- Thanks for sharing your personal experience with the importance of safely securing a dog in the car. I'm glad that Zeus is okay and was not injured in the roll-over!
