How To Train Your Dog To Exercise On A Treadmill

First of all, you want to acclimate your dog to the treadmill slowly - you can't expect him to hop right on and start walking the first day. Fido is going to need some time to check this thing out and figure out what it is all about.
What you want to do is take time each day to slowly "introduce" him to the treadmill. The first few days don't even turn it on, then slowly turn it on, as he gets used to each step slowly try to get him closer and closer to it.
The goal is to get him to stand on it on his own - don't turn it on at first! Then once he is surefooted on it you can slowly turn it on and work your way up to the desire dspeed.
