Reasons To Consider Homemade Dog Treat Recipes
Dog Treats Not To Give Your Dog
As I said above, there are some dog treats that people give their dogs that they really shouldn't give them. For instance, foods made for people can be dangerous for dogs because it has more fat than your dog can handle and can give dogs diarrhea. Also, the food we eat doesn't have the vitamins and minerals that dogs need.Chocolate and anything containing caffeine can cause seizures, coma and even death. Even foods we consider as being healthy can be dangerous to your dog. Take grapes and raisins for instance. They can cause kidney failure which can kill your dog.
Onions can cause anemia while tomatoes can cause tremors and heart arrhythmias. Avocados can cause breathing difficulty and fluid accumulation around the abdomen, chest and heart. I think you get the picture.
When it comes to commercial dog treats most are filled with chemical preservatives, artificial flavors and colors, low-quality protein sources, cheap fats and grains, and various other fillers.
This makes a great case for considering your dog treat recipes.

- The ingredients called for in the sample recipes alone are questionable and I personally would advise against using salt and sugar in any recipe for a dog.
