What Is "Dog Whispering?" 

Dog Whisper Comprehension - Do you have it?

Dog whispering is nothing mystical. It's been around as long as dogs have been with mankind. While dog whispering is central to effective communication and control of your dog, it's not just about setting limits and having your dog mind you as his leader of the pack. It is so much more.

Dog whispering is about taking the time to understand your dog's wants and needs. Dog whispering is about comprehending what makes him respond the way he does, and knowing how to make him feel secure. It's loving and kind ... and effective.

Dog whispering is about seeing things through your dog's eyes. Put yourself in his Shoes. See what gives him the same kind of joy that chocolate cake gives you. What are the signals to which he will respond instinctively? ... The way the leader of the pack would look at him or grab him? ... The way his mother would pick him up and discipline him? ...

All without brute force, squirting, clicking, or yelling!

Think of your children. It's not just rules, rules, rules and discipline. Yes, those are critical and must be set forth up front ... But dog whispering is about freedom within carefully constructed boundaries ... just as a child at the park has freedom to go down the slide or to play on the jungle gym.

Dog whispering does take skill to master. But it is not out of the reach of anyone ... anyone who is willing to apply himself patiently and make mistakes ... anyone who recognizes that the dog world is far vaster than the eye can see.

Dog whispering is communication in terms your dog understands. Yes, he can learn some of what you say after experiencing it in context. But he uses dog body language, not verbal syntax. "Dog whisper" is his silent language ... his looks ... his tail ... his ears ....

Dog whispering is about leadership ... with prompt, unquestioned obedience when you call or give a command. So learn how to dog whisper. Your dog's life could depend upon it!

Dog Whisper in Action - Progress in "Red Zone" Case 

Dog Rehabilitation Progress with a "Red Zone" Pit Bull by "Dog Whispering"

How to put Dog Whisper into action with extreme psychological dog behavior problems? Use dog body language to communicate with the dog in a way she instinctively understands.

In dealing with a "red zone" case, you must approach as one who is taking over and claiming his or her own space - not threatening the space of the animal. You have to stay still until she gives way to you.

What happens? She stands in one spot and emits unbelievable screams from her throat! Then she starts trembling and shaking. That's all part of it. She finally will pick up on your way of being - which is calm, cool and collected - and will lay herself down.

Then you move into her. Begin chasing her around the house - not in the form of a game, but a very concentrated exercise. Continue until she again lies down.

This is a ritual dogs do to each other. Dog whisper...The dominant dog stares down the other and remains calm, even when threatened by the other one. Then the dominant dog begins a game of chase and outruns the other dog - making her physically and psychologically drained. Do this and she figures out that you are capable of handling her!

Next, do the worst thing with which she has an issue. In this case, there was a Korean Jindo in the pack with whom the Pit Bull had gotten into a fight...a BAD fight. So bad in fact that the white kitchen turned red. No exaggeration. One owner's hand was severed, and the other's leg was in the same condition... Let's just say that they've learned that there's a right way and a wrong way to break up dog fights!

I took the female Pit Bull out into the yard and made her walk down the street with the Jindo whom she hates. Both of them attempted to lunge at each other, she making no sound as she lunged (the deadliest of all), and he barking his head off as he lunged.

The corrections were made simply with British slip leads. (The female had broken choke chains and prong collars which other trainers had insisted were the answer.)

In extreme cases such as this, do NOT try to do it yourself. Get Expert Dog Behaviorist - Dog Whisperer Help or you could be torn up.

Update - Using the Dog Whisper Method with a "Red Zone" Pit Bull Dog 

The Dog Whisper communication system is what the dog instinctively recognizes - and it gets results!

It's been only a few weeks since we started working with the "incurable" Pit Bull - And now she is walking down the road with only one person in between her and the Jindo, the dog she hated most. No muzzles. She completely ignores him - except for occasionally thinking, "Hmm, maybe I should sniff a little bit." She also allowed herself to be smelled by one other dog in the pack. We're coming along.

Update two weeks later: The "red zone" Pit Bull is able to ignore another dog completely for over twenty minutes. There is still progress to be made, but she has come further than anyone ever believed was possible. By using the Dog Whisper method, this is what we have achieved so far.
