Dog Obedience Training

What is disobedience? To disobey implies the ability to obey but choosing not to. If your dog doesn't obey you because he doesn't understand what you want him to do, that's not disobedience; he needs more training.

If your dog understands what you want him to do and simply chooses not to, that's disobedience. He is disrespecting you. I know you are thinking wow! my dog does not respect me. But it's more of a training issue than a personal respect issue.



Dogs are pack animals and they function in the pack according to a hierarchy. There is a top dog... the Alpha-Dog. If your dog disobeys you, he thinks he is the Alpha-Dog even if he is the only dog that you own. The solution? You must teach your dog that you are the Alpha-Dog.

I don't know about you but I kinda like the idea of being Top Dog, Numero Uno, The Big Kahuna, The Alpha Dog! And it will accomplish your goal! Your dog will obey you.
