There are many different types of dog and cat beds available in the marketplace. Pet beds vary in their size, comfort, design, quality and cost. Just as there are various types and sizes of pets, there are various beds to choose from for your pet.

The basic features features that you should look for in your pet's bed are comfort and ease of cleaning. There is such a variety of beds today. Dog and cat beds are designed to look like real beds, real furniture and are also designed to accommodate older geriatric pets, such as orthopedic and heated dog and cat beds.

Pet beds are made out of different types of fabrics, colors and textures - designed to blend in with your home's decor.

Just like their human companions, dogs and cats love the shape and feel of that perfect bed which also provides them with a sense of security. Making sure that your pet has a comfortable bed is one way to repay them for their unconditional love.

Dogs and Exercise

Dog exercise is as important for your dog as regular exercise is important to us. A slim, well-conditioned dog will live a much healthier, longer live than an overweight dog. Just like humans, dogs are not meant to be inactive and grow fat.

A dog that exercises on a regular basis will have a toned heart that can cope better with the appropriate body weight for their breed. A well rounded exercise program for your pet will also help prevent heart disease.

Exercising your dog will increase their alertness and contentment. Your pet will also sleep better, have more energy and socialize much better. A regular exercise program will decrease health problems and boredom. Another great advantage to exercising with your dog is that it strengthens the bond between you and your pet.

Dogs prefer wide open spaces where they can run and play. If you live in an area that does not have wide open spaces then you can play fetch with your dog either in your backyard or a local park. Teach your dog to fetch a favorite ball, toy or frisbee for a fun dog exercise.

Don't overdo your dog's exercising routine, especially if your pet is currently overweight. Stop playing before your dog gets tired and bored. Allow your dog to rest and relax after each exercise and they'll look forward to the next time that you play and exercise with them.

Don't let your dog become overheated while they are exercising. Avoid the hottest part of the day to do the exercise. Always provide an ample supply of fresh water for your dog so that they don't become dehydrated. Remember not to let your dog overexert themselves during any exercise program, as this can lead to injury.

Dogs like routine, so develop a regular exercise routine that will benefit both you and your dog.

Pets and Laughter

Dog's Misbehaving and Boredom

If your dog is engaging in abnormal or unwanted activities such as chewing on non-dog toy items or barking continuously, they could be bored. Dog's, like humans, are very social beings. If they don't have anything to distract them and keep them entertained, they will find their own entertainment and it probably won't be the type of activity that is acceptable.

There are a couple of things you can do with your pet to help reduce their boredom. Try rotating the toys they are allowed to play with instead of letting them have all the toys at once. Rotate the toys on a weekly basis and they will think they are getting something new and different to play with.

You could also purchase some of the more popular interactive dog toys to help stimulate your dog or maybe a treat ball. Dog's love these types of toys because they get rewarded for their efforts and should keep them entertained and out of trouble for awhile. Another way to help reduce boredom and in turn, their misbehaving, is to spend a little more time walking or playing with your pet. This is also a great way to strength the bond between you and your best friend.

Even though I have a cat comic, about a cat that won't turn around. I am now the proud friend a a dog. It's true what you say about dogs and exersize. Here in Florida most of the day is too hot. My friend just wants to sleep. But twilight is the best morning or evening. Thanks for an enjoyable Lens.

I sell a cat product the LitterHouse a litter box for cats. But my true love is dogs. I would like to buy my dad (73) a companion dog with short hair. Any suggestions?
