Official Dogbook Information

You might have heard about this already, there has been quite a bit of press on it,  Dogbook available now on Facebook.
Welcome to the new age of information for.... your pet?

That's right, now you can create a profile for your dog that is attached to your own facebook profile.  A sort of "extension" of your personal profile that talk strictly about your K9 pal.

Add pictures, "personal" information, favorite things, birth date, etc.  You can even add videos to his/her profile.  It's VERY easy to add to your profile.  Simply type "dogbook" into the Search Bar, and the click the Application item that shows up.  On the top right part of the profile screen, there'll be a bar saying "Add Application."  Select it, and you're off to the races!

I added my girlfriend's (and sort of mine) dog, Carter.  The cutest freakin Yorkie you've ever met.  A little crazy at times, but God I love him. 

As it's been reported, in just 3 short months, there are an estimated 700,000 dogbook profiles already added to Facebook internationally.

This additional program was created by a father and son team from Toronto, Canada, who wished to see pets interact online as their human owners did.  Only 21 years of age, the son programmed it completely himself.  As they said in their interview with the Toronto Star, "If dogs and cats had their druthers, they'd love to meet others who face the same problems with owners, who know good restaurants or fire hydrants."

I'm not quite sure that it's just like that, or he's falling quick victim to our tendency to infer human-like qualities on our pets.  Either way, it's a really fun way to show off your pet.
