Amy Nichols is an avid dog lover and award-winning businesswoman who is the founder of Dogtopia Daycare and Spa, Happy To Be Here Inc. our franchise company, and K-9 Support Inc.,  our charity to support military working dogs.

Dogtopia is a dog daycare and overnight facility that cares for dogs daily as well as for extended periods of time.  Amy created Dogtopia after experiencing guilt and frustration over not finding a facility where she felt good about leaving her Boston Terrier, Griffin.

After over 5 years in telecommunication sales, Amy left it all behind to start her own business and grew it to the multi-million dollar  business that it is today.  She opened her first dog daycare in 2002, franchised it in 2004, and has since opened another corporate location in Maryland. Dogtopia now has 28 franchisees in 14 states and growing!

Amy has been a speaker at expos and trade shows and has been published in major newspapers as an expert on dog daycare, and in particular, pet franchises.

Amy graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park and resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, two sons and two dogs.
