Hi

I'm so glad I found this site. I thought my poodle had broken his paw after attemting to do the lambada with him but it just turns out it was badly sprained. With my obvious disability I fount it hard to determine this by look, touch or scent.

All the Best

Dog first aid is such an overlooked skill. Our pets can have accidents at any time just like humans and we need to be ready for when it does. Our pet was simply around and she caught her dew claw which needed removing - ouch! I think its very important too that dog owners recognise the dangers of stick throwing too. Nasty injuries can result and first aid knowledge is essential.

GREAT lens! Love your information on Signs of a Healthy Dog. Anyone interested in holistic dog health is a human after my own heart! And someone who sees the dangers of the "recommended" annual vaccinations has my vote, too.

I'm lucky that my 12-year-old pooch has had good health all of her life, but I do need to get her teeth cleaned again, so I was particularly interested in that part of your lens. I'm going to make a point to make the call for an appointment this month.

Hey, this is really cool, i just came across this site, it really looks nice and it has covered many different topics like Dog Seizures, Dog Heartworms and Worms, Dog Diarrhea and Constipation, Dog Ringworms, Dog Ear Mites, Dog Medicines, and Their Side Effects, Dog Allergies, Dog Arthritis, Dog Fleas, and Aggressive Dogs.

I can learn a lot from this site. I also started a blog on the health of dogs myself, I hope you will get time to visit my dog health blog. Hope you like it too

• allthingspets May 14, 2010 @ 2:31 pm | delete
I found your article very interesting. I was particulary interested in the vaccination information. I'm in Ky and we are allowed to go 3 years between rabies vaccinations which I think is great. I've always wondered why dogs are supposed to get vaccinations annually and it makes much more sense to run serum titer tests. Thanks again. http://allaboutpetsonline.wordpress.com/

You have a ton of great info here. In fact, I just wrote an article in my Dog Talk Weekly newsletter on how dogs use their noses, why they get so wet, how they smell with it. The research was very interesting... and fun to read.

Hi Andrew :)
I did some checking for you on Anal glands. If you want to, you can save some money and clean or 'express' the anal glands yourself. If your dog needs the glands softened, there's a natural product that will cleanse, soften, and help empty the anal glands. For some info on the product, and how to express anal glands, just click on the Clenzor product above, and in the search box on the left, type in analglandz and click the red button. I also found you a video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8Cr1MQaGHc

Great lens full of useful info for the dog lover. I enjoyed reading your lens in depth. My dog has to have his Anul Glands excavated on a regular basis. Does this have to be done by the vet ? I could not find the answer within your lens. 5*

Hello again, flowergardener! It seems that there is no stopping you from making great lens and this one adds to your list of 5-star lenses!!! Talking about dogs, by the way, they chew a lot...Is it possible they can have TMJ problems, too? I've read yesterday about TMJ and exercises for TMJ . Hope there is something for dogs, too. I'm really on the lookout for things to keep my pet in top condition...Anyway, keep up the good work and have a nice day!

Good point about dark spots on a dog's skin. I discovered that certain breeds have them on their tongues as well. When I first saw it on my lab/chow mix, I thought it was a bruise. :-)
Great lens! Lots of terrific info. Thanks for all your great work.

Exceptionally well done lens! Thanks for the depth on the vaccine issue. That's the #1 pet health concern expressed by my visitors, and one that I believe led to the premature death of my Golden Retriever. You are doing a fabulous job and a great service. Be most blessed!
