It's time for a nail trim!

Trimming your pups nails is very important. More important than you may think!

Uncared for nails can break at the quick and be very, very painful for us pups. And overgrown nails can cause a pup to walk unnaturally and can distort the foot, especially in a puppy, and cause lameness, pain and permanent deformity. They may curl into the foot or, in the case of the dew claw, into the leg. When your dog walks on a hard surface, you shouldn't hear the click of nails. If you do, it's time to trim.

The dremel sounds like it might be a good idea. I have a black lab so her nails are very dark. I have absolutely no chance of seeing the quick. It seems to be a guessing game but I reward her with treat and she doesn't mind anymore. I have only cut it once when she moved and it was too bad at least.
