Dog Boots for All Seasons

For the most part, our dogs are tough. But their paws can be sensitive at any time of the year. In the summer, some dog's paws turn raw pink because of grass allergies, and the irritation causes a lot of paw licking. Lawn chemicals and fertilizers can also harm paws, and they can be sensitive to hot pavement, particularly when there isn't a cooler surface, such as grass, nearby. In the winter, the salt and chemicals spread out on the road and sidewalks to melt ice are harsh on sensitive paws, and ice is obviously very cold and can be jagged and difficult to walk on.

To protect your four-legged friend from the elements, consider treating him to a nice set of boots. Dog boots today come in several types - basic, high performance, and extra protection. Check out a few of the brands listed below and see if something meets your needs.

Claws Are Important, Too!

Keeping your dog's claws trimmed is important because catching a nail can be very painful. Long claws make it difficult for dogs to walk on smooth floors.

PediPaws Pedicure Kit

An essential part of paw care for dogs involves regularly trimming toenails. Try the PediPaws (hint: get puppies used to having nails handled early, so it isn't difficult when they are bigger).
