DOGS - for a good education and psychological development of the children

The DOGS - known as the man's best friend, has an important role in a child's life. The benefits of having a dog around your kid are multiple. Studies are showing that a child grown with a dog in his family is healthier and has better human relations, interacts better with others and is more responsible.

In a world where the computer, the video games, the TV are keeping the child in house and more and more kids has interactions and social problems, a dog is the best answer to resolve the problem and to create for your child a healthy environment to develop.

A dog is also keeping the family closer and is bringing more harmony in it. Studies are showing that after the acquisition of a dog, the masters are spendind more time with their families and in a more relaxing way.

Movies as "Marley & Me", "Beethoven", "The Little Rascals" maybe don't have a film quality but they promote family's values, compassion and upbringing.

Studies are showing that children grown with a dog have a higher immunity, are less allergic and has less chances to develop asthma.

Another important reason is the movement. Most of the dogs needs daily walks and to play for burning their energy. So ... due to them, the child has to go out and make also exercise, ride a bike or play with his dog

When a child is growing with a dog he learns since an early age what is friendship and affection, becoming more responsible, learning to assume the consequences of his acts.

The experts discovered that the children grown with a dog have a higher IQ and emotional intelligence.

A child who is reading a book or learns in the same room with a dog is more relaxed, so he will assimilate the information for the school faster. So the chidren with a dog will become smarter and they will read better.

A child becomes more responsible with a dog around him, because he has to take care of it, to get it out for a walk, to feed it, to take it a bath... so in this way a child will be more careful with the people and animals around him. The children accustom with the responsability sense in this way.

A child with a dog is developing empathy, and the ability to understand what feel the others. His emotional intelligence is impoving, because the child is taking care of the dog, which is entire dependently to its master. So first the child will recognize the dog necessities, emotions and mimicry that his dog has in different situations, and will be earier for him to understands what are feeling the others.

The specialists recommend a dog after the age of 7, when a child could take care of it, play and go to a walk with the dog.

There are several programs that teach the children how to behave with the pet from the house and how to take care of it ... some basic rules for taking care of a pet and for a good cohabitation.

A dog helps a child to develop better his social abilities and the relations with the ones around him.

The dogs become the friends of the kids, and the little ones will have the tendency to unbosom to them, the dogs having a great power of empathy.

The friendship between dogs and kids borns from the need of affection of both of them, and the dogs have always time, and offer the feeling of protection and safety, so the children will tell the dogs everyting they have in their soul. The dogs are game mates and very good listeners. The dogs are asking only for attention and affection.

Taking care of their dog, children become more confident, and get self respect. They start to feel competent.

The dogs are playing and of course make the child laughing, to be calmer and happier. They are an emotional base.

The children that have regularly interactions with dogs, develop easier the abilities of interaction and socialization with people, wich is a favourable training experience.

When we pet a dog, our body secretes endorphins, which are reducing the stress.

The dog is a substitute of the mother, when the child is neglected, when the parents are to much time at work ... the dog offeres the feeling of safety, the dog means the obtaining and keeping the safety.

Aslo, the dog is tempering the autistic children. For autistic children is difficult and stressful the daily activities and social situations. So the presence of a dog will make them less stressful.

Also for the kids of which parents are getting divorced, or are in hospitals ... will make easier for them to have a dog around.

The dog, of which life is less than a human one, helps a child to undersand better the cyclicity of life: birth, growing, reproduction, death.

And .. also .. a kid with a dog is a cool kid: your kid will make easier friends (also kids with other dogs or kids who like his dog and wants to have one but they can't because of their parents)

Zootherapy

Studies are showing that in the presence of animals the level of cortisol, a hormone associated with the sterss, is declining, and the production of serotonin, a substance associated with the welfare is raising.

The dog is the most advisable for Zootherapy, because it is submissive, and can be easily trained. It has a powerful sensitive ability, especially the psychic particularities. It is also very close for the native intelligence, so they are able to understand quickly and remember forever what are required from their masters.

They are also the best guides for the blind children.

    I personally wouldn't be without at least one dog (I have 5 rescues and 1 'bought" dog - my boyfriends). I think that people who love dogs are more apt to be easygoing than those who don't.

    I grew up with a collie & corgi. My kids would love to get a dog, but I'm still waiting to get one.

    Yeah ... dachshund are cute and friendly, but even an aggressive dog if it si well trained and socialized could be a great partener

    just adopt a dog which is not biting like golden retriever, never pitbulls and rotweilers. german shepherds are still acceptable.

    Great information - my children keep begging me for a dog but I have been reluctant. After reading this, I'm going to give it some good thought, seems dogs are more beneficial than I realized!

Breeds recommended for children

There are several breeds in the top breeds recommended for children

1. Great Dane

Even it is very big and brawny, it is very peaceful, intelligent and loves a lot its family. It is very protective and very loyal. It will do anything to make its master happy. The dog should have at most 4 months, to be well trained and accommodate with its new family.

When it is a pup it's full of energy and attaches fast from its master.

2. Labrador

It is very intelligent, loyal and obedient. Maybe it is the most proper dog for a family. It has a constant temper, is playful and protector, it likes to show its affetion. It is the most met dog in american's families. It is very sociable and not at all aggressive. It is very good to make the kid responsible because it needs regularly combing and daily walks.

3.American Bulldog

It is not aggressive unlike the public opinion. It is sociable, frankly, loyal, very careful with the family. It tolerates very well the children, it loves to play with them, and maybe it is the most proper breed for a family where the kid should learn the socialization. It attaches by its master

It must be socialized with other people and other dogs since an early age, to be easier controlled. And if it's well socialized and trained, it is a devoted and great protector.

4. Poodle

It loves to play and to be spoiled. It is not a watchdog, it's a dog for hunt at its origins, so it is not proper to guard the house. It is friendly with children, with people and other animals. It is loyal, smart, and listens to its family. It needs regularly grooming, a weekly brushing and daily walks, so it's good to make the child responsible. For the children who develop allergies or asthma is very good due to its type of fur.

5. Beagle

It is not at all aggressive, it is frankly and playful. It has a lot of energy, it likes to play with the ball, and it is submissive to its master. It must be trained since 2 months.

It a medium sized dog and it's very protective

6. Scotch Collie

It is one of the most intelligent dogs. It is protective, loyal and smart. It likes to play, to communicate with other animals and its master, to search for things, to help its family.

Being a flock dog, it will try to guide and show happiness to the ones around it. It needs weekly combing and sometimes 2-3 times/week.

7. Bloodhound

It has great abilities to find the trace, to smell the danger. It is very peaceful, it will be not upset if the children will tease it or pull from its moustaches. It has short fur but it lets slobbers, so you'll need to clean more often. It is not at all aggressive or furious.
