    Thank you for doing this! I almost hate the warm weather because of all the dogs I see in hot cars. Some establishments are great about making announcements and others (Target) won't announce anything over their PA about a pet in a car.

    It can't be emphasized enough what the risks are to leave a dog on a hot day in the car. I applaud people to rescue even potentially dangerous dogs from inside a car and not to leave them in their misery or even a heatstroke. The dog can't do any harm in this state, so don't be afraid to help if you can and get the dog out of the car, even if the owner is not around. It's not worth it to have the dogs suffer!

    I see you have links to K & H COOL BED III CANINE COOLER. I have one for each of my puggies and I highly recommend them. I live in southern Florida and even with the air conditioner, my dogs seem to get a bit overheated sometimes. I have a cool bed in their favorite napping spots and they really, really enjoy them.

    This is one of my pet peeves with dog owners. I just can't understand how they can think it's safe, even for five minutes. I can't handle sitting in a stationary car with the windows wide open for five minutes and I don't have a fur coat.

    A couple of days ago I waited by a car where a dog had been left inside. When the owner returned I told her, as nice as possible, that it could be potentially life threatening to her dog to leave Fido in the car. I know I was being a bit pushy but I couldn't help myself. The woman was embarrassed and thanked me for my concern . It could have gone another way. I'd like to think that I may have saved a dog.

    I no longer have a dog, but what a great reminder for all dog owners. Never leave your pets, or kids in hot cars!

    I love my Shiba Inu dog and I love bringing her along while going out in my car! I really don't want anything bad to happen to her! Thanks for sharing this! I hope a lot of dog owners out there will read this lens of yours! Great job!!! Another masterpiece of yours!

    Hi Frank - thanks for barking in. Temperatures inside a car can vary widely from outdoor temperatures with the effects of sun. See the links at the top for more information, because cars can develop killer heat even on cooler days. And remember, always play it safe when it comes to leaving your pups in the car!

    This is something everyone should be aware about. It kills me to go to the grocery store and see a dog locked up inside a car with no windows cracked in 100 degree heat. I usually stay by the car until the owners come out to be sure they're o.k. Great lens - rated 5 stars!
