My dogs have always come when I call them my cat never would. When we moved to another state my cat was not happy and he hid for two days. I think he was mad at us and to show us how he felt he suddenly forgot how to use his litter box. I think cats hold grudges dogs are very forgiving.

i love both, i live in a flat at the moment and work 12hrs a day so ive got cats, they cuddle me every single night, they follow me to work, they follow me to the shop, they even follow me to the bath room! but they bring me the most horrible presents ever, birds with no feathers, mice with no heads, moths, spiders and RATS!!!! and they are soooo picky my boyfriend is lovely, he feeds them, he goes to look for them when they have broken into the neighbours garage and cant get back out and they completely ignore him, its as though he doesnt exist. i constantly worry about them being run over, or going to the old lady across the road and deciding shes alot nicer than me, this is why if i could i would have a dog any day, my two border collies live with my mum and i miss them terribly,they used to cuddle me every night, they used to go to work with me, they would merrily walk to the shop with me, they even followed me to the bathroom! they used to leave me the worst presants ever, bits of expensive shoes, holes in the carpet, stuffing out of the sofa, wall paper on the floor,but they did love everyone, nobody didnt get a welcome home and they wouldnt run off into the road and they wouldnt dream of going to live somewhere else because they gave them salmon steak for dinner(that bloody old lady wants my cats) although im sure they would gladly eat it and run. i suppose i just badly miss my dogs, dont get me wrong i dearly love my cats but life is just not the same without my faithful borders sitting on the sofa with me watching tv. my cats are out at the mo so no furry friend to cuddle up with till about 12pm, oh well willl just have to cuddle my boyfriend instesd.

I always had Dogs and "hated" cats, but, that's only because I DIDN'T Know Them.
I had a GF once that had cats and when I finally got to living with her (and them) I found out I was, ahem, prejudiced, ONLY because I had no idea of their qualities!
They're lovable, clean, SMART, aloof and snuggly.
That said I still love Dogs but now Cats are also in the mix.
I presently have 1 dog and 3 cats and they all get along quite well.
So as you can see ... I love them BOTH and can't really choose one or another.
My heart and love is BIG enough for BOTH!

That said, I will confess I've seen some pretty sweet dogs so they do have some redeeming values. And I do have friends that love their dogs like their own children.
So dogs can be pretty good pets... but CATS are the BEST.

She washed him because he was no longer able to do it for himself. She laid with him to keep him warm in the winter and got him up to eat regularly. She gave him several more years of good life.
