Generate Your Own Custom Dog Sweater!

From TheDietDiary.com

This page will chart a custom dog sweater for you to knit by hand or on your machine. The shape of the dog sweater is designed based on dog sweaters pictured in Foster & Smith's catalog. In that catalog, the basic tube shaped sweater is shown two different designs. One design has a fairisle body in a traditional snow flake pattern and ribbed collar, trim and legs. The other design has a shaker rib body; 1 x 1 rib is used for the collar, legs and welt trims around the edges.

To use this page, you must measure your dog and knit a swatch. Then enter your dog's measurements and some gauge information in the boxes you'll see. You may also chose to work in inches or centimeters. Fill out all measurements and hit "send"! Your chilly pooch will thank you.

The winter can be bitterly cold and a dog will still want to go for his/her walk no matter what the weather. It is only sensible and responsible to protect your dog's health by keeping him/her warm.

Great lens! I'm a crocheter, not a knitter, but I have a Schnauzer rescue and I design crocheted sweaters for all my furkids every winter. Loved seeing all the schnauzers featured in this lens too!

An added benefit for small dog sweaters is when these clothes are made from 100% cotton, fleece or neoprene. These types of cloth are meant to keep the warmth inside the dog's body. So regardless if it's the strongest of wind or the coolest of weather, your dogs are protected from the unhealthy cold that they will feel lest they be exposed without dog sweaters remember however that there are certain type of cloth that would not be recommended to be worn too long like polyester so you also have to ask around for the pros and cons of the type of cloth used to construct the dog outfit. apprendre a tricoter

Sweaters for your dogs do not just protect them from the cold. They can also look highly fashionable too. This is important especially if you want your dog to stand out and look good whenever he or she is out for a walk with you. You can also match your dog's sweater with yours just for the fun of it.
