Vaccinating Dogs: What Your Vet Hasn't Told You
Ranked #9,835 in Pets & Animals, #251,550 overall
I have been studying canine vaccination for almost five years now, ever since my dog Jiggy developed an autoimmune liver disease after rabies vaccination.
I have read everything I could get my hands on and interviewed some of the top pet vaccination experts in the country: Drs. Jean Dodds and Ron Schultz, holistic vet Richard Pitcairn and many others. I didn't care if the "truth" was inconvenient or expensive, or if it contradicted my own vet's advice. I cared only what was best for dogs. I profit in no way from vaccination or the lack thereof.
I am continually shocked and surprised by what I have learned, by how much of what we consider "factual" is really just tradition or the best route to financial gain. For example:

I am continually shocked and surprised by what I have learned, by how much of what we consider "factual" is really just tradition or the best route to financial gain. For example:
- There has never been a study determining that yearly vaccination is necessary for the most important shots, parvovirus and distemper. Even though unnecessary revaccination can cause serious health problems (including autoimmune disease), countless vets send out annual shot reminders.
- Reporting of adverse vaccine reactions to the government and manufacturers is voluntary and rare, and there are insufficient funds for follow-up.
- Shots containing multiple vaccines (like DHLPPC) are given for convenience and cost effectiveness despite well-known adverse health consequences.
If any of this shocks you, I hope you'll watch the upcoming video and check out the other videos and articles at my website Dogs4Dogs.com. Also check out the important links in the Links section below.
A video I hope you'll watch.

- AAHA Canine Vaccine Report
- The 2006 American Animal Hospital Canine Vaccine Task Force Report updates the 2003 Report which changed the way we vaccinate dogs. It is an excellent report, although more conservative than many immunology experts would have liked. Some say the potential loss of vet income coming from reduced vaccination tempered the advice given in this report.

My Favorite Dog Care Book
Have fun while you learn.
I wrote this book! It won two national awards: the Ben Franklin Award for the Best Health Book of any kind and the USABookNews Award for the Best Pet Health Book.
The Journal of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association wrote: This is a wonderful book! It's also endorsed by Animal Wellness Magazine, The Animal Protection Institute and countless veterinarians. All author royalties benefit animal causes.
The title alone should tell you it's not your average dog care book. Scared Poopless is heavily researched and packed with information from my two years of research and interviews --but it's also really fun to read and contains 89 wild full-color photos. It makes a beautiful, and thoughtful, gift for dog-loving friends.
In addition to an in-depth, but easy to read, chapter on vaccination, it covers food, pet meds, anesthesia and surgery and dozens of other subjects on holistic dog health and safety. Please read the reviews, and see the Table of Contents, at Amazon or my website (link below) to learn more about it.
