I do the ChaCha
If you have a cell phone and love to text then you may already have heard of ChaCha. It is a place to text to get answers to just about any question you might have.
I work there as a part time online job. It is self employment. I can do as little or as much as I want to do. It is great to do in your spare time to earn a few bucks or if you want to put alot of time in to it you can earn hundreds per month. Some have earned $600 to $800 in a month. I personally have never made that much in a month.
It can be fun to work there. Alot of times I will hear about something as it is happening. For instance the day Michael Jackson died I suddenly was getting questions that morning asking if Michael Jackson died. So, I googled on the internet and sure enough it was barely even being reported, but I did find one reliable source that said in fact he had died.
You can text 242242 to try for yourself.
It is free to you. You must already have a text plan on your cell phone however.
A funny question I recently read was when a customer texted in to ask what the funniest question ever asked was that made you laugh.
The answer was: Dumb law that prevents bears from having wrestling matches.
Announcing GuideShare Phase 2! Begins Dec. 1 |
Thanks to all of you who have been testing our new Points mode and providing useful suggestions. We are planning to release additional features over the next few weeks to improve the Guide experience.
We decided to move up the timeframe for launching phase two (the paid phase) of the GuideShare program to Dec. 1 in order to kick start the creation of great new content for our users and to begin lifting limits on questions.
As a thank you to Guides who have been testing the new functionality, we will also be allowing Points earned throughout the November test period to count towards your December totals. So feel free to go Points crazy and rack up as many as you can!
Something that many Guides asked about following the original announcement of GuideShare was how much they could potentially earn when guiding for Points. In response, we've adjusted how we are handling the payouts from GuideShare by declaring a specified payout amount each month. The actual monthly payout may be greater, but the specified pool amount announced at the beginning of the month will be the minimum paid to Guides in the GuideShare program.
* The initial GuideShare pool amount will be $50,000 for the month of December. Every Guide who earns Points in the month of December (and the November test phase) will share in that $50,000 pool.
* Payouts from the GuideShare pool will take place the last business day of the next month. For example, Points earned during the month of December will be credited to your earnings accounts in cash on January 29. Once in your account, those funds can be paid out using either Pay Me Now or Pay Me Monthly.
* ChaCha may decide to increase the amount of the GuideShare pool during the month.
* Each Guide's share of the pool is based on the number of Points accumulated. Payouts from the GuideShare Pool will be made on a percentage basis of how many Points you earned compared to the total Points earned that month. Example: a Guide who earns 1,000 Points in a month when 100,000 Total Points were earned will receive 1% of that month's GuideShare pool.
* As we look to build traffic and momentum heading into 2010, we do anticipate recruiting more Guides so that we can relieve the question limits experienced by many ChaCha users.
* Every month a new GuideShare pool amount will be announced in advance. The GuideShare pool may fluctuate higher or lower in the future - though we anticipate it will go higher as we gain more experience with the Points compensation program.
ChaCha is gaining popularity

ChaCha has been talked about on many different news programs and television shows. Besides the Ellen Show and Ellen talking about it (see the video below) it has been talked about on Good Morning America and other shows.
Some of the questions you get at ChaCha are something else. It can be alot of fun working there if you like to work on the computer and need a few extra bucks. You can work at home any time day or night. They especially need people at night.

There are 4 different jobs available if you are interested in working there.
Expeditor
Expeditors are like the Air Traffic Controllers of the ChaCha world. It's your speedy, savvy work that keeps the questions flying in a swift, orderly fashion to the right places. Whether they departed the customer's phone as voice or text, you are responsible for their on-time arrival in the hands of the right Specialist. At times, you'll even intercept questions yourself and provide an instant answer to the customer.
As an Expeditor, you sit at the crux of the system, converting all incoming questions into a standard form, determining if answers already exist, and categorizing the questions so they're routed to the best available Guides. We think the Expeditor role is a perfect fit for Guides who prefer a more systematic set of tasks. Roger, that!
Requires: Strong grammar and spelling, excellent general knowledge, fast typing, quick decision-making, and strong reasoning ability.
Specialist
Specialists research and craft answers to customer questions that fall into areas of their particular knowledge and interests. Working from a well formed question that the Expeditor delivers, the Specialist blazes a fast trail on the Web to an accurate answer from an authoritative source.
Your key distinction as a Specialist is in signing up for specific ChaCha Categories, so that you are first in line to receive incoming Questions that match your respective expertise. Because as a Specialist you're able to focus your skills and energies on answering questions of greater familiarity, you can handle question volume faster and more efficiently.
Requires: Specific knowledge in chosen subject areas, exceptional Internet search skills, strong reasoning ability, sound judgment, good grammar and spelling, fast typing, and strong general knowledge.
Generalists
Generalists are the ChaCha version of the know-it-all, the renaissance man/woman, or the resourceful friend everyone calls. You are able to comprehend, research, and answer any question thrown at you, regardless of subject matter.
Though you possess many of the same attributes as a Specialist, you enjoy the thrill of the unexpected, and possess the Internet search skills to make you seem like an expert even when you're not. You are resourceful with a capital "R" and enjoy helping customers while continually learning new things.
Requires: Exceptional Internet search skills, strong general knowledge, good grammar and spelling, fast typing, strong reasoning ability, and sound judgment.
Transcriber
Transcribers are the Guides who make ChaCha's voice answer service the absolute smartest one anywhere. As a Transcriber, you listen to the voice questions that customers call into 1-800-2ChaCha and convert them to text questions.
You're knowledgeable about people, places and things, and have sharp ears to interpret even muffled questions (possibly from a crowded subway or noisy restaurant). In other words, you're far better than any computer at deducing what our customers are asking, and correctly interpreting nuances and names. (Note: This is not like being a telephone operator - you hear only recorded audio.)
Requires: Good ears, good spelling, fast typing, broad general knowledge, and the smarts to figure out what customers are really asking when they call in.
I am an expeditor.
When questions first come in, I am one of thousands of expeditors that the question will go to. I have to succinct the question and send it on to a guide who will then look up the answer. There are times I will answer the question such as certain sports questions, weather, jokes or any number of questions that do not requiring looking up the answer.

ChaCha Rap
One man's story of how ChaCha has saved the day more times than once. Lyrics: Drivin' in a city I don't know to a club I'm really really lost and I wanna eat some grub I've never been so confused in my life I'm runnin' round in circles and I've run two red lights It's a mess! I need to get some directions But everyone I call just gives me rejections That's when I remember this convo I had With a friend the day before by the name of Thad He said, "Have you heard about ChaCha?" (NO!) "It's totally legit and I'll tell you how it goes If you've got a question you can call or text It'll occupy your time or get you out of a mess" I type in my location and my destination And in just a few minutes no more exploration I know where I'm going it's as simple as that And that's why I wrote this ChaCha rap. Chorus: I've never felt like this before I feel like I've got a friend and more A texting service that's always free With it's own human personality 242-242 Is what I text and so can you Call the number to ask a Q 1-800-2-ChaCha for you! That's not all 'cuz later in the night A friend and I were arguing we got into a fight About the last 4 winners of the Super Bowl And I'm a Steelers fan so you know that I know But we didn't have the webbies and I wanted results Because I had to rub it in this dude's a fan of the Colts! So I used ChaCha again, And now I have one less friend. So now that I'm a loner I've been gettin' kinda bored I plan to ride my bike about tomorrow at 4 But what will the weather be like? Will it be suitable to ride my bike? I think you know where this goes I asked for weather info from the dudes who know (ChaCha!) And now I never hesitate To tell you all that ChaCha's great Just listen to these stories, I think you can relate Chorus
