Dollar Collapse - Will it really happen?
I don't remember how I came to know about it but once I knew this word, I started to research extensively about the
"dollar collapse"
"how will the dollar collapse"
"consequences of dollar collapse"
"american collapse"
"us collapse" .
There are many websites about this issue and reading about it causes an eerie feeling inside. If all that is false and nothing of that sort happens, then it'll be good for everybody. But.... what if it really happens. This is where the problems start.
In the guestbook below, tell us whatever you know about the collapse. Include whatever sources you have read and tell us about your inner feeling about this crisis. Also tell us how you are going to tackle this issue, what steps you are taking etc.

Do you want to Profit from the Dollar Collapse?
A Must Have Book
"The dollar is in trouble. Its value on foreign exchange markets has been falling for the past six years, and now its gradual decline is about to become a rout. This spells big trouble for the American economy-but potential riches for smart investors. In The Collapse of the Dollar and How to Profit from It, financial gurus James Turk and John Rubino show how the dollar arrived at this precipice, why it will continue to plunge, and how you can profit from the resulting financial crisis.
The United States today is the world's biggest debtor nation. To finance this mountain of debt, we're flooding the world with dollars. The resulting oversupply of dollars will cause its value to decline until it is displaced as the world's dominant currency. Precious metals will soar in value, and gold will reclaim its monetary role at the center of the global financial system.
James Turk, a leading gold authority and the founder of GoldMoney.com, and John Rubino, editor of the popular Web site DollarCollapse.com offer strategies for investing in gold coins, gold stocks, gold-based digital currencies, and other hard assets to create a profitable portfolio.
The Collapse of the Dollar and How to Profit from It is a must read for every citizen and investor."

Review:
By Breck Breckenridge (Spokane, Washington)
Another great practical book on economics and investing for the common man. I learned so much about how things are now in America from this book. I recommend it heartily to anyone who wants to know more about gold, fiat money, the mess this country is in, and the doom that awaits us.

Disturbing Quotes on the US Dollar Collapse
1. "The consequences for the US economy of doing nothing could be severe." - Alan Greenspan.
2. "The world is set to jump off the top of a waterfall without knowing how deep the water is below." - Kenneth Rogoff, IMF (International Monetary Fund) Head of Economic Research.
3. "There's a 75% chance that the US will experience a currency crisis within five years." - Paul Volcker, Chairman of the US Federal Reserve.
4. "There's nobody home on economic policy in America right now. Its an accident waiting to happen." - Stephen Roach, Chief Economist, Morgan Stanley.
5. "we have the phenomenon called inflation which is the appearance of rising prices. I emphasis the word 'appearance' because in reality prices are not rising at all. What we're seeing is that the value of the dollar is going down, that's the real side of the equation. If we had real money based on gold or silver or anything tangible that couldn't just be created out of thin air, it could be based on microphones, that they couldn't just create with the stroke of a pen, you would see then that prices would remain stable over a long period of time."
- Edward Griffin, author of "The Creature from Jeckyll Island"
6. "Maybe the public doesn't want to hear it. Maybe politicians think ... the American public can't understand the truth or hear the truth or bear the truth. I think this is garbage. I think that people care about their kids and grandchildren and need to know the dangers facing them -- and us."
- Laurence Kotlikoff, economics chairman at Boston University

U.S.A National Debt
Who is responsible?
USA has the highest debt in the entire world. It has crossed 9 trillion (9,000,000,000,000) dollars in 2008. This thing is growing each and everyday. Do you think this is sustainable? Who is going to pay back this amount?Anyone with a sane mind knows that this is something very serious. But the majority do not have any effect about this issue. There may be several reasons for this. Whatever they are, the people who know this should start taking serious steps to spread this to as many people as possible.
If you want more information about the national debt then wikipedia has a page on United States Public debt. You have to definitely look at that.
Definition of National Debt:
1.The United States total public debt, commonly called the national debt, or U.S. government debt, is the amount of money owed by the United States federal government to creditors who hold U.S. debt instruments. (Wikipedia)
2.The financial obligations of a national government resulting from deficit spending.
(Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)
Based on the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2006.)
From the above definitions it becomes clear that a national debt occurs when a govt. spends more money that it has. Where does this money come from? Obviously it comes from other nations. There was only one time when there was almost no national debt on the US govt.
One more reason for the debt is the people using their credit cards when they have less money. People are just using their credit cards and maxing them out. What is that extra money which your credit card gives you. It is debt. Many people have thousands of dollars of debt due to these credit cards.

- What can anyone say? The reality simply shocks my very soul into disbelief.I feel as if Im standing on an airport runway as every passenger aircraft ever built rushes over my body. The sound screams at me. I want to go back in time and ask my long dead father and mother for help and advice.I fear even they would be speechless and lost. This my friends is the very end of us..

- In part I agree with the comments above ...however it is a bit dated and a few things have changed a bit ...except the collapse part ! America is still spending like a drunken sailor.
I do beleive that the UK is in worse shape than America and is going to actually collapse first ...that may even be a catalyst for the American collapse.
Europe, Canada,Australia,New Zealand will be hard hit ...but those countries all have good export capabilities ...they have things that the rest of the World needs and wants.
In fact there is a good chance for those countries to do very well especially Canada and Australia with commodities leading the way.
Canada has proven its banking sector is strong and steady and has attracted attention for being one of the few countries that actually did not have a banking crisis. I actually beleive once the American collapse is underway and Americans see what is happening there is going to be a bit of a rush for the exits by people that have some money ....gold .... sellable assets ....these folks will head north to a stable country and more importantly stable currancy.
America is in for a ride that is going to take 20 years to sort out .... America as it stands will no longer be the United States Of America but a grouping of smaller autonomous regions not unlike what has happened in the former USSR ....they will adopt there own curriencies or use other more stable world currencies to re-establish there place in the world ....the US dollar will be NO MORE ....there will be no effective central government at all ...they will have no money and no one will want it in any case as it is worthless.
Talk about karma!

- we are majorly fucked. if the dollar can't buy energy for us anymore we're all going to fucking starve. Grow gardens if you can, become as self sustaining possible. Do not depend on our corporate-run government or on any corporate job. We are a consumption based economy which runs on the idea of exchanging shit(paper money) and calling it gold. The clock will strike midnight and that gold will turn back into shit, and so will most of our lives.
Good luck, everyone.

- Mark to Market accounting and war profiteering need to be made illegal. Mankind have created large machines (corporations and governments) that are legally treated equal to or better than other humans, but have neither the compassion nor conscience of any human. We will be enslaved by our creations. The greatest single power God gave us was the ability to create and just look at the mess that we've created.
