Make Dollhouse Christmas Tree Ornaments
Every dollhouse Christmas tree needs miniature ornaments!
This is my old Christmas tree, it's a hot mess right now. I only got it out to photograph the ornaments for this project. I plan on using the tutorial at De-Lightful Minis to make a new tree in the future.

Supplies
Polymer Clay in your choice of colorsEye Pins or wire
Wire Cutters
Needle Nose Pliers
Razor Blade (to cut clay)
Needle Tool
7/16" circle Kemper cutter
3/8" star Kemper cutter
Craft Slices (optional)
Pasta Machine
Clear Nail Polish
Step One:
I'm using a small amount of clay just for the purpose of this tutorial. I used red, a green I mixed and translucent. Start with clean hands and warm up a piece of clay. Red bleeds easily so be sure your hands are clean before using another color.Roll clay through pasta machine on the thickest setting.
Step Two:
Use the 7/16" circle cutter to cut out as many circles as you need, depending on how many ornaments you are making. Step Three:
If you are using craft slices, place one on the circle and gently press down. Try not to make any indentations or marks when pressing, use a needle tool (gently) if necessary to make sure it's snug.
Use the needle tool to make a small hole. This is what the eye pin or wire will go through. Step Three Continued
If you're not using craft slices, roll out another piece of clay in a different color than your circle, two sizes thinner on the pasta machine. Cut out stars with your 3/8' star cutter.
Carefully place the star on your circle and don't forget to make a hole for the wire. Step Four:
Bake clay according to manufacture's instructions. I use a toaster oven set to 200 degrees and I bake small items five minutes at a time, they took about 10 minutes. Step Five:
After your ornaments have cooled, use needle nose pliers to bend one end of your eye pin.
Thread through the hole you made, be careful not to use to much pressure.
Use the pliers to squeeze the wire together Step Six:
Use wire cutters to cut down wire, you want it as small as you can get it and still be able to close the wire. Step Seven:
Use needle nose pliers to carefully bend the wire about 1/4 inch from top of ornament, bend completely in half.
Cut wire just after the bend, see picture below.
It should look something like this. Step Eight:
Add a coat of clear nail polish, let dry and hang on miniature Christmas tree. Amazon Books
