Doll Houses Bring Out The Child In All Of Us
I did have a few dolls and a few pieces of furniture but my family could not afford a doll house (my Mom even made all of my doll clothes since she didn't have the money for store bought)so when ever I had a chance to play with someone who had a doll house you couldn't pull me away.
When my son was about 2 years old we were living in Hawaii and I remember getting him Hawaiian Barbie & Ken dolls and a Hawaiian Doll House complete with plastic pineapples, flowers, shells and a wind surfer for Ken.
He spent a total of possibly 5 minutes with it but I spent hours and hours pretending it was my dream house. I even kept on adding pieces to it until we decided to move to the mainland and gave it away to a good friend's daughter.
The little girl is all grown up with a girl of her own, who now plays with the house.

- I vividly remember getting my first miniature house (barbie house) from a family friend Christmas Time of 1969 when I was only 4 years old soon to be 5, and I played and played with it! To this day I have lots of dollhouses and miniatures which I still play and play with (work on - adult mini term for play!)

I didn't have a dolls house as a little girl, so I created one for myself as a grown up! I decoupaged a cupboard and made it like a Dutch cabinet dolls house. Still working on it, more fun as an adult!
