Our Dolphin Encounter with Captain Chad! What a surprise!
Imagine our surprise when we discovered we were going on a Dolphin Encounter with Captain Chad!
Thank you, Randy and Captain Chad for such a wonderful adventure!

Mr. Pelican greeted us!
Meet Captain Chad!
Captain Chad Hayes was ESPN's 2006 Ultimate Ourdoorsman! He is conducting a freelance research project on the resident dolphins in the Kiawah River to catalog and document the individual dolphins and their behavior. Captain Chad is a native of South Carolina and a graduate of Presbyterian College with a degree in Biology. He is former host of the "South Carolina Wildlife" television show.Captain Chad knows these waters and these creatures of land and sea very well. He expertly answered our questions and taught us more in that 2 hour cruise than we probably ever learned in a classroom!
This dolphin is named Nick -- can you spot the nick in his dorsal fin?
Most of the dolphins had names related to marks on their dorsal fins.

Actually I swam with the dolphins twice. My husband, daughter and I went for the first swim! It was as awesome as I expected. I talked about it so much that my friends and I decided to go back about 5 years later. The only place I would recommend for...

My son worked on a dolphin safari catamaran down the road in Dana Point. He loves the ocean and enjoyed sharing that love with inquisitive folks like yourselves. What wonderful creatures the sea holds.

in reply to poddys We love Dolphin Research Center. I even did a lens about swimming with the dolphins there! So glad you visited that wonderful place! Thank you for visiting and telling us about DRC.

Great lens. I would love to swim with dolphins, but in the ocean not in a pool of course. Same with sea shells - I can't buy them, have to pick them myself off the beach. I went to the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys the other week and got to shake fins with Flipper's grandson. That was a great day out. Dolphins are such great creatures. 5***** for a wonderful lens.

Hi Joan, when my husband and I were on our honeymoon (and I am not going to say how many years ago that was) we got to ride on Seadoo's with dolphins swimming around us. It was so very cool. :)

Hi! Happy Squidoo Positivity Week!
I love a book called Five True Dolphin Stories (I think it is 5). Island of the Blue Dolphins is well-written, but a bit sad. Happy Squidooing and 5 * rating for you!
