Dolphins are my Favorite Creature that lives in the Ocean

This lens is all about dolphins. I studied them when I was seven and made this lens. My sister helped me while my mother got better from an operation. I am homeschooled and I like to do projects that have art in them. I made this lens in 2008. Now I am eleven. I like making Squidoo lenses. I learned about how dolphins swim, how they eat, how they hear and how they are born.

I use echolocation!

Dolphin Echolocation

Dolphins send out a noise through an organ in thier forehead called a mellon. The noise bounces off of things in front of them which makes an echo that they feel in fat around their bottom jaw. This lets them "see" when it is dark.

I break large fish into small pieces by hitting them onto the surface of the water.

Dolphin Birth

I am a live-bearer.

Dolphins don't lay eggs, the babies are born live, usually tail first.

I have a BELLY BUTTON!

Killer whales can eat young dolphins!

I leap as the sun is setting!

I ride the waves to gain speed!

I'm a beluga whale. I'm not a dolphin.

I roam the ocean!

I have hair near my lip when I am a baby!

My baby is called a calf. I produce milk for my baby!

I don't have gills, I breathe AIR!

I am warm blooded! I stay warm, even in cold water!

What do you think?
