Hang Your Pictures Right the First Time

If you are like me when you want to hang a picture, you hold your picture up on wall and try to decide if it is in a good location. Then, you either mark the spot or hold your finger where you think the nail or hanger should go. Next, you drive the nail and hang the picture. Whoops...it's too high, too low, too far left or right. You remove the picture from the wall and move the nail up, down, left, or right to a more appropriate position. Okay that wasn't enough, so you adjust it a little more and hang the picture again. Ah, much better except you now have to patch and paint a few extra nail holes.

How To Hang Your Pictures Right Where You Want Them

Eliminate Trial and Error

The Hang & Level - Picture Hanging Tool - available from Home Depot is what I use to hang work in my gallery. I find this tool to be very effective and a real time saver. It minimizes nail holes because you can position the picture exactly where you want it the first time. It's great for lining up paintings side by side or in a group without the trial and error that normally occurs. It comes with complete instructions but basically this is what you do: 1) To hang a picture you place the wire over the hook 2) Position the picture and tool on the wall 3) Press the button to mark the exact spot where the nail goes 4) Drive in the nail, hang the picture, and level it using the level built into the tool.

Hang It Right the First Time.

To me this tool makes hanging wall art a lot easier than other methods I have used involving a tape measure or holding the picture where you want it and then trying to place the nail where you think it should go. The Hang and Level Picture Hanging Tool works especially well if you want to align the tops, bottoms, or centers of pictures horizontally and vertically to establish the spacing you want between pictures.

I use this item all the time when I hang new work or rearrange work in my art gallery. It really saves time and the trouble of fixing incorrectly located nail holes. I recommend this tool.
