Did you know that Donald Trump's phenomenally successful series The Apprentice was originally considered a big mistake? The billionaire's highly compensated agent advised him to pass on the concept.
A business show of its kind had never been successful in prime time, and the agent was reluctant to allow his high-profile client to fall flat on his face.
But Donald Trump decided to trust his gut. He had made an agreement with the show's creator and executive producer, Mark Burnett, and Donald Trump's word was as good as a contract. The Apprentice went into production and the rest is history.
And the agent? He later came calling to request a multi-million dollar commission after The Apprentice beat all odds and attained the number one spot on NBC's prime time lineup. Donald Trump responded by sending him a brief letter which read—you guessed it—You're Fired!
