The theme of this month's issue is donor relations and we have excellent interviews with Hannah T. Moore, Director of Institutional Stewardship at Purdue University, and Gena Walton, Canadian Director, Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP) and Manager of Donor Relations at IWK Health Centre Foundation.

We also profile a new donor wall at the University of Manitoba and three new interactive recognition displays at Mount Carmel Health System.

New projects in the works include those for the Rady Children's Hospital Foundation, Penrose-St. Francis Hospital, Operation Hope, St. Rita's Medical Center, University of Illinois, University of Vermont, Indiana University Foundation, Bethesda Hospital Foundation, Beth Israel Congregation, University of Regina, Stan Cassidy Rehabilitation Centre, and the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

If you're planning on developing a new donor wall or recognition display you'll also want to read How to Create an Effective Donor Wall Request For Proposal (RFP).

Wishing you all the best in your holiday fundraising endeavors!

Donor Recognition Brought to Life!

Planned Legacy creates state-of-the-art donor recognition and campaign fundraising systems that attract at first point of contact, say thank you in dramatic fashion, and inspire more and greater gifts - and they can be customized to be whatever YOU want them to be.

An extremely flexible contributor and donor recognition solution that is always up-to-date (You can easily make changes with our content management system), the Planned Legacy system allows you to seamlessly combine traditional donor walls with high-definition plasma displays, interactive touch-screen information kiosks and the Internet, to say thank you in dramatic fashion and promote your organization like never before.

Not only do the Planned Legacy systems attract, inform, persuade and communicate with your contributors and your community at first point of contact - they also inspire greater giving from current and prospective donors.

The enhanced form of communication offered by Planned Legacy recognition displays facilitates greater community awareness as well as stronger contributor support, through increased understanding and appreciation of your organization.

An easy-to-update donor wall unlimited by space, that attracts every time - not just once or twice. A donor recognition system that integrates easily with traditional recognition displays. A donor wall that eliminates physical space problems and plaque or brick-changing nightmares. A donor recognition system that is infinitely scalable, that communicates your important messages in compelling must-read fashion using vibrant multimedia video, audio, text and delicious graphics. A beautiful display that offers an exceptional naming opportunity. A display that consistently generates more and greater gifts, that is also quick and easy to update from the comfort of your office.

A donor recognition and campaign fundraising system that provides an edge, something your competitors don't have - the future.

Donor Wall Planning

Questions to consider when planning your donor wall.

A donor wall, recognition display, multimedia presentation or other similar initiative, should be a reflection of your nonprofit organization's culture, vision and values.

It should chronicle your organization's history, celebrate achievements and provide dignified and distinctive recognition for donors, champions, volunteers, staff or others whose efforts have helped to further your organization's mission, goals and accomplishments.

A recognition display should be far more than a simple list of names - it should be a destination - a place where people can learn more about your organization and its accomplishments - where they can identify with your most heartfelt contributors - where they can experience emotion that makes them want to learn more - to become involved. Creating such an exhibit requires planning and imagination.

With that in mind we have prepared a list of questions to consider when trying to plan the perfect donor wall or recognition display for your nonprofit organization. We would like this list to become a resource for all development professionals and welcome your feedback.
