Voting For Vancouver Was Very Close
Pyeongchang had the most votes in the first round , in this round was Salzburg eliminated. Sadly, because Salzburg is not too far from Slovakia, compare with Vancouver in Canada. In the second round, two of the members who had voted for Salzburg voted for Vancouver. Yes! Everything that was in Prague on 2nd July in 2003. Prague is in Czech Republic, Europe, FYI.
And something else:
Vancouver's victory came almost 2 years after Toronto's 2008 Summer Olympic bid was defeated by Beijing.
Who Are They?
On Wikipedia I've read about them following:
Miga - A mythical sea bear, part orca and part kermode bear.
Quatchi - A sasquatch. He comes from the mysterious forests of Canada and dreams of being a hockey goalie.
Sumi - An animal guardian spirit with the wings of the Thunderbird and legs of a black bear who wears a hat of an orca whale. He lives in the mountains of British Columbia.
Mukmuk - A Vancouver Island marmot , what is interesting about Mukmuk ,that Mukmuk is not an official mascot. He acts as others sidekicks.
And You Should Know that Miga and Quatchi are mascots for the Olympic Games, while Sumi is the mascot for the Paralympic Games.

Olympic Logo was unveiled in 2005.
Well, its name is Ilanaaq the Inunnguaq.
Ilanaaq is the Inuktitut word for friend. The logo is based on the Inukshuk (stone landmark) built for the Northwest Territories Pavilion at Expo 86 and donated to the City of Vancouver after the event. It is located on Whistler Mountain. What can say else. Perhaps, be my Inuktitut who read this lens.

Have Olympic Games A Bad Impact On Enviroment?
I'm asking, becouse in Vancouver, for example, was destructed a natural environment, particularly at Eagleridge Bluffs, for reason to build a new highway. According to critics, and there is not a small number of them, it is known that despite claims of the "greenest Olympics" ever", the 2010 Olympics will be among the "most environmentally destructive" in history.
What Do You Think?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byyes
LaraineRose says:
I travelled that highway while it was being built. Yes, the destruction was phenominal. Normally that wide highway was not needed. It was a great distance from Vancouver to Whistler and much destruction.

- I enjoyed watching the winter Olympics, especially the men's hockey finals. Canada did really well and it was great to see them top the gold medal count.
