Doodle - from start to finish

A doodle from start to finish

I noticed how many people are interesting in doodling after I posted my first lenses about the theme.
Doodling is relaxing and fun!

So I wanted to show how I draw such a doodle :)

You just need paper and pen to start right now.

What you need

I usually use very small paper pieces for doodling. But for these photos I used a bit larger paper. It's just ordinary paper I use for making notes. Just take a piece of paper you have at home.

If you want to make a doodle as a decoration for your wall - I would suggest to use cardstock paper.

Most of the time I have no intention to make a decoration with my doodles :) I just scribble something while I'm waiting for something. Or while listening to an audiobook.

You also need a black pen (or a pencil, a biro - or whatever you prefer).

That's what I usually use

Doodles on the colorful post-it's look great too.

A little something to start with

Most of the time I start with drawing something in the middle of the paper. A flower, a curl or something like that. I never plan what to draw ;)

Add shapes

More shapes were added here. Nothing difficult :)

Just simple shapes

More shapes

I'm rotating the paper very often while I draw.

I just added more and more shapes to the doodle.

More shapes ....

Pattern fill

On the next image I started to fill the shapes with all kind of different pattern.

Outline

I usually draw a thicker line around the doodle, because I think it looks nice that way :)

Finished Doodle

The finished doodle is about 19 cm wide, 13 cm high.
Time I needed from start to finish was about an hour or so.

This is such an fantastic lens, that I wanted to come back to give it a Squid Angel blessing. It will be featured on my lens, A Nightowl Angel's Journey, in the DIY & Hobby category.

It is amazing how some people so easily create art. It is a struggle for me, so maybe I'll try this type of doodle. Thank you for showing this. It is beautiful!
