Dooney & Bourke is a fashion company specializing in accessories, such as leather handbags, iPod cases, luggage, bracelets, watches, and briefcases, and a limited clothing line. Along with their main competitor Coach, Dooney & Bourke produces goods in the niche market known as 'affordable luxury', wherein a brand is recognizable as a luxury product but is priced such that it is somewhat more accessible to the budget conscious. In 1981 "Dooney & Bourke" branched out into the handbag business with the release of the Tack Case and the Equestrian Bag both made from bridle leather and now their signature handbags are among the most desirable in the fashion industry.
