Character type: Intelligence. Team affiliation: Sentinal.
Ablities
Crystal Nova: Blasts enemy units around a target point with a wave of damaging frost that slows movement speed and attack rate.
Frostbite: Freezes the target in a case of ice, prohibiting movement and attacking.
Brilliance Aura: Gives additional mana regeneration to all friendly units on the entire map. This is a passive DOTA ability which is always on once the Crystal Maiden trains it. Expect some of your allies to yell at you if you don't take it first, but that's not always a good idea.
Freezing Field: Causes many random icy explosions in an area surrounding Rylai. Enemy units in the Freezing Field are slowed.
You should wait until you're laned with someone to decide which skill to pick first. Both frostbite and crystal nova are excellent for ganking, but complement different types of heroes and their abilities.
Item Choices
Obviously you should buy some boots. I usually grab these first thing, as she can rush to aid anyone else in getting first blood with her abilities taking someone else by surprise. Most people tend to buy an assortment of the typical intelligence hero items for the Crystal Maiden: Orchid, Guinsoo, Shiva, and so on. You can't really go wrong with her, but expect to spend your most damaging times in battle channeling your ultimate. Anything that'll help disable people so you can nail them with it is worth investing your hard-earned gold into.
Blink dagger (combined with ultimate) is a fun item if your enemies aren't paying lots of attention. This will let your Crystal Maiden rush behind them to cast your ultimate, when they thought they'd be running away from you... it's also great for assisting in other fights. Blink will also let you catch up with survivors and slow them down.

- ill make it supportive type arcane boots and forcestaff are great..
i dont think that dagger is good at rylai because its ultimate is easy to cancel......:P

- My Item Build:
Aghanim's Scepter- Simply cause the freezing field can be upgraded
Shiva's Guard- Cause it raises Mana and Your Armor to make her hard to kill
Boots Of TraveL- Can be Used for Defending your Towers and Also For Trying to Get Away.
The ButterFly- For Maximum Attack Speed ( Complete For Killing ) and for your AgiLity
Heart of tarasqque- For Maximum Battle Indurance. Increases Strength and for hard to kill moments.
Try some of your healing things like Bottle or something to make yourself hard to kill.

Helpful Tips
Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork. Don't play Rylai as if she's soloing. Her abilities only work on one target at a time, unless they're all grouped together of course. She's very weak and vulnerable to ganking.
Expect players to focus attacks on you the moment you start your ultimate. Consider items that absorb enemy skills, and play from hidden locations so they might not see you until they walk into your trap.
