Dotnet

Ranked #82,862 in Computers & Electronics, #1,280,876 overall

Learning Microsoft Dot net is very easy.

The .NET Framework is a program runtime environment, used to run some programs. It is similar to Java's runtime environment (JVM).

Go to control panel -> add/remove programs and you can see if you already have the .NET framework installed. You probably do have the 1.1 version of .NET framework installed.

The latest version is 2.0. You can get it from: http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/

The next version will be 3.0. They have already released a beta version of this, and it will be installed by default in Windows Vista.

See also Mono, an open source clone of .NET that runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac.

If you want to do any programming in .NET, see things like SharpDevelop, boo, and the codeproject.com site. You'll need to install the .NET SDK as well.
