Do you remember that nursery rhyme 'chubby cheeks, dimple chin/rosy lips, teeth within'?

If a dimple chin is cool, a double chin is perceived to be a flaw.

It looks like a fat pad under the jaw and looks like a second chin.

A double chin is not a congenital phenomenon but most often acquired by obese people or can be induced by age.

Shoulders Back and Head Up

The visibility of a double chin depends on the facial bone structure and the amount of sagging skin around it.

One way of concealing a double chin is to carry oneself upright, throw back one's shoulders, and keep the chin up!

The other relatively easier way is to go through a regular regimen of double chin exercises.

All said and done, a double chin is something you could do without.

So if you've acquired this dreaded facial appendage through age, accumulation of fat, retention of fluids or bad posture - it is absolutely necessary to get rid of it.

And that's where double chin exercises enter your life.

3 Simple Double Chin Exercises

The good news is you could do these double chin exercises painlessly without taking the help of cosmetic surgery.

How? The answer lies in three simple, effective, nearly effortless double chin exercises.

Double Chin Exercise #1

The first step is to hold the head in a straight position and follow some jaw exercises.

Push the lower jaw upwards so that teeth from the lower jaw touch the upper lip.

Bring it back to the original position.

This exercise can be done 10-15 times to begin with and it can be stepped up to four times a day.

Double Chin Exercise #2

The second step involves holding the head at an angle so that the chin points upwards while opening and closing the mouth as wide as possible.

This is a muscle exercise and correctly done, one should feel the neck muscles contract and relax.

Beginning with 15-30 sets and trying it out four times a day is recommended.

Double Chin Exercise #3

The third chin exercise rests on the principle of creating resistance to the free movement of lower jaw muscles.

The chin has to be lifted and the middle and index fingers placed under it.

The idea is to press the tongue against the lower jaw-line and feel the pressure on the fingers.

Hold then relax, ten seconds in between, then hold and relax.

Four to five times is all that is necessary.
