Facts About Dougray Scott
Dougray Scott comes from Fife in Scotland, growing up in the new town of Glenrothes (he is still a Chieftain at the nearby Highland Games in Markinch).
His real first name is Stephen, with Dougray coming from the surname of his grandmother - Equity already had a Stephen Scott.
Scott has twins with his first wife. He married his second wife, actress Claire Forlani (Brad Pitt's love interest in Meet Joe Black), in Italy in 2007. Ewan McGregor was best man.
He missed out on the role of Wolverine in X-Men, for which he had originally been cast, due to the over-running of filming on Mission Impossible II. The role subsequently went to Hugh Jackman.

Dougray Scott stars as the Sultan in this rich and magical fantasy based on the story of Scheherezade, who must entertain her husband (the Sultan) with ever-more fantastic stories to escape death.
The DVD version of this 2001 production is highly-rated by Amazon viewers. Having recently caught part of the 3-hour production on TV, I agree that this is a beautifully-made and entertaining TV show. Alongside Scott, the cast includes Rufus Sewell, John Leguizamo and Alexei Sayle. Milli Avital plays Scheherezade.

Artemis Fair commented: I've watched this over and over again, so many times it's embarassing. I still can't believe this was made for TV. The costumes, sets, special effects . . . look as if it was a high budget blockbuster. Stories told within a story - the other reviews have the details already - well written to preserve the great teachings of the original and to entertain, the script is very funny though sometimes subtle.
Harvey M Quackenbush commented: I'm 63 years old and never get tired of this movie. A pleasure to watch with a bowl of pop corn and my family. This movie has its silly moments and fantasy abounds. The special effects are really very good making this move a classic for the ages. There is some old slapstick comedy which keeps you laughing. without telling secrets out of school this movie is worth the almost 3 hours a viewing. I would consider this a top 10 for family viewing.

In 2010 Dougray Scott and wife Claire Forlani worked together on the movie No Ordinary Trifle. He also appeared in TV movie The Quinn-tuplets.
Scott fans are eagerly awaiting the release of other productions the actor starred in during 2010. In romantic thrillerA Thousand Kisses Deep Scott plays Ludwig Giroux and stars opposite British actress Emilia Fox.
Biographical drama There Be Dragons sees Dougray Scott alongside Charlie Cox and Wes Bentley in a plot unfolding in and following the Spanish Civil War.
From the horrors of war to the glamour of Hollywood's golden age, Scott joins an all-star cast in a recreation of a clash of acting legends Marilyn Monroe and Sir Laurence Olivier: My Week with Marilyn. Scott takes on the role of Arthur Miller. Jewish playwright Miller, famous in his own right, was married to Marilyn Monroe from 1956 to 1961.
Dougray Scott and David Tennant are the stars of the upcoming TV movie United in which Scott plays the famous Manchester United football player and manager, Matt Busby.
Scott's next movie will be The Magnificent Eleven, a comedy which also stars Sean Bean.

- I've loved Dougray from right back when he starred in British TV series Soldier Soldier, and have followed him ever since! I love Ever After too :o) Great lens!

- I adore the movie Ever After, and Dougray Scott was phenomenal in it. The man looks fantastic for his age, which is rather heartening, actually.
