Doctor Who is an aquired taste

If you like science fiction you have probably watched Doctor Who at least once in your life. This lens is a discussion of Doctor Who. Do you watch it? Do you like it? Do you consider it legitimate Science fiction or is it too silly? Which Doctor is your favorite? I remember watching Doctor Who a few times as a child, but I did not "get it". Now my family love the new series and I have come to enjoy them too. We watch them on Netflix.

First DoctorThe original series ran from 1963 to 1989! Wow. After a sad 16 years without Doctor Who, it was revived in 2005.

    I guess I haven't seen enough doctors to really judge. I started watching during the Christopher Eccleson period and am now watching Matt Smith. But out of the three doctors I've seen I would have to say my favorite is David Tennant
