Dragons are mythological creatures which some people say were inspired by the reality of dinosaurs.

All About Dragons

The dragon is a mythological creature, with stories about them found in cultures around the world.

Dragons are sometimes described as having the scales and body of a snake, large wings, a beard and whiskers and able to breath fire. They can be very snake-like, or more like large, winged dinosaurs. Sometimes they have two legs, sometimes four and sometimes they have no legs.

Many modern day reptiles, especially lizards, look like miniature dragons or dinosaurs even. Did the myths about dragons come from primitive man encountering descendents of dinosaurs?

In their earliest form, dragons were associated with the Great Mother, the water god and the warrior sun god. In these capacities they had the power to be both beneficient and destructive and were all-powerful creatures in the universe.
