Draft towers really catch the eye in your bar.
What are the first things people notice when they enter a bar? The draft towers of course. Nothing catches a patrons eye better than a tower with all of their favorite beer taps attached.
Draft Towers: How to Make Your Neighborhood Bar Unique
A unique way to serve beer.
You can show off your bar by adding draft beer towers that are striking and impressive. Perhaps the most eye-catching draft towers are the mushroom, or mini-mushroom, type. This kind of tower comes up from the base in a column to a rounder top.
In copper or brass the mushroom shape comes to life with shadows and sparkles playing across its polished surfaces. If you have a bar mirror behind the pouring area, the effect is enhanced further. The mushroom style of draft towers usually has at least three beer faucets, also with polished surfaces.
There are also ceramic draft towers that add a touch of elegance. These are just right for a small, intimate bar. They work especially well for a bar that caters to those seeking a comfortable lifestyle. They portray coziness and old-fashioned grace.
Many of the other towers are more modern in appearance. There are straight column shapes that have a smooth, unadorned surface. They are often made out of stainless steel because it is the most durable. However they can be made of some of the more classic materials like brass, brass with chrome plate, or copper.
The column types of draft towers are hardly unique. More unusual are the T-shaped towers. These are built on a column. Then, they have a T-bar that goes across the top. On it are mounted at least four spigots. This will give your bar a different look. It will also give you more faucets to serve different beers on tap.
However, if you really want to impress with the number of beers you have on tap, you can get a 12-tap tower. They come in lower numbers, basically 4-tap, 5-tap, 6-tap, 8-tap, and 10-tap. The 12-tap tower is a mighty machine and will separate your bar from so many others.
The design of these larger draft towers is almost invariably modern in style. That should go well with your bar if you are doing a large business in a large city. If that is not the case, you might want to think of going another way.
If you are doing a large business, but you have a more classic themed bar, you could still use ceramic, brass, or copper towers and scatter them along the bar. This will also give bartenders more room to work each individual tap. That is good, because with a large customer-base, you will have several bartenders working at once.
You can only make your bar your own if you choose a beer tower that match the theme of your bar. They need to be different from the ordinary. The hope is that people will notice them and enjoy your bar more as a result.
