Dragon Flight in Real Life
Dragon Kites flying in the air are a wondrous sight. Kites by themselves are fun to watch and fly. Dragon Kites make us imagine those fantastic creatures gliding magically in the air. It makes the ordinary less so. At least for the day.

What is a Dragon Kite?
Different Dragon Designs
There are three designs typically used for the dragon motif. They are interchangeably known as dragon kites.
Centipede
The traditional Chinese design. This Dragon kite is made of a series of small circular kites strung together to provide lift. The dragon head is actually decoration. In strong winds the kite often flies tail first into the sky.
Flat kite with Tail
A wide winged Flat kite is given a decorative dragon on the body. The long tail completes the motif as well as provides stability.
Pennon Kite
Also called the western dragon kite, this design has a pennon (round) top with a long tail. The rounded kite body usually provides the lift with the tail trailing behind. The Dragon head is usually painted onto the body so this design is practically the reverse of the oriental dragon kite.

- How does the dragon kite get enough air to fly? Wouldn't the weight and the length of it make it unstable?
