Dragon Quest V: The Adventure of a Lifetime
This Lens is going to be all about my experiences with Dragon Quest 5. I am currently playing through the game on the Nintendo DS, and find this to be one of the most engrossing Dragon Quest game yet. Come join me as I share my experiences as our hero grows up through the years, discovers new monsters to befriend and to try and find the truth of his destiny.

First Impressions
I have been playing Dragon Quest V on and off for the past few months. As a long time Dragon Quest fan, I have to say this game has the most in depth story I have seen. You start off the game as a 5 year old boy, something I have not seen often in a game before. As a young boy, you get to experience all kinds of adventures, even a journeying to the world of faeries. The game takes twists and turns, later on taking the hero into the years of a teenager. As you see your character evolve, you cannot help but form even more attachments as you grow through the years. Gameplay becomes even more interesting at this time, as you can recruit monsters to join your party. If you beat a monster, there is a small chance that it will become interested in joining you on your adventures. They start as level 1 and you can have 2 monsters together with you in your party. The monsters will gain levels and abilities, giving you so many options to advance yourself. This is a definite plus for fans of traditional RPGs and Pokemon monster collecting games. World Map

Monster Recruitment
One of the great features of this game is the ability to recruit monsters into your party. At a certain point, you will gain access to a wagon. With this wagon, whenever you encounter monsters in the wild, there will be a chance that they will become interested in joining you after being defeated. They will become level 1, and as they level up, they will gain different abilities. You can have a maximum of 4 characters in your party, but you can have up to 8 monsters in your wagon. Monsters in the wagon still gain experience and level up, also having the ability to cast spells out of combat, such as heal. Try and gain access to a Slime Knight early on, they can use equipment just like the hero, as well as cast healing spells in and out of combat! Buy Dragon Quest V
