Chinese dragons (Eastern) are often more colorful and vibrant compared to Celtic and Western dragons which are more Gothic and dark in apperance. Dragons were painted on tombs of dead Chinese royalty to stand guard over them. Dragon art was used in a similar way throughout Europe. You can see them standing guard over many buildings as gargoyles.
