About the Pirate Class in the online RPG, DragonFable

The Pirate class in DragonFable is the third class to be released for the game, and the first class that anyone can be. Unlike the Guardian and DragonLord classes, free-account holders can participate in the Pirate class.

DragonFable in an online, browser-based flash game. No special software is needed and it's free to play.

DragonFable was created by Artix Entertainment which also created Adventure Quest, MechQuest, and AdventureQuest Worlds MMO.

Osprey Cove

The hangout pirates prefer 2 to 1.

Osprey Cove is the area of choice for Pirates, Sailors, and pesky monkey-ninjas. The primary NPC of Osprey Cove is none other than First Mate Rhubarb. He is the quest-giver and healer of this ocean-front area.

Located in Osprey Cove are a tavern (healing and potions), a weapons shop for levels 24 to 31, a barber with new haircuts for players, and a pet shop with level 10 to 30 pets.

How to Become a Pirate

The first step in becoming a Pirate is to visit Rhubarb in Osprey Cove and pick his "Become a Pirate!" link. Rhubarb will send you to the weapons shop to talk to Meringue to get some "Forged Papers."

The Forged Papers are on Meringue's shop list. They cost 3,500 (yikes!) gold and are a level 1 item. Return to Rhubarb, give him the papers, and you will unlock Pirates Armor. Now, you have to go on a quest for a Black Pearl before you can train.

Hint: If you are high-level, don't bother putting on the Pirate Armor just yet. You'll end up getting your arse kicked for it.

Unique Skills

The Pirate class has three skills that are dependant on you PC's primary class. That is, whether you are a Mage, Warrior, or Rogue.

The skills are:
  • Mage: Blast, Curse, and Hex
  • Warrior: Pistol Shots, Sea Legs, and Swordsplay
