While DragonForce is typically described as "metal", I'd have to append "progressive" onto that. Their sound is remniscent of Dream Theatre and Stratovarious. Simply describing them as "metal" can make someone think too much of guitarists that only know 3 chords and misplaced angry-at-my-dad shouting for the sake of shouting. Not so. Far from it.
DragonForce is one of the most talented bands I've ever heard. They sing -- not screaming, shouting -- crystaline melodic tones with incredibly fast beats. In a burst of genius from Activision, the makers of Guitar Hero, they have added a song by DragonForce that intimidates and humbles the would-be hero.

What's So Great About Guitar Hero Anyway?
The Guitar Hero series has revolutionized the gaming industry. Published by Red Octane and Activision, they use a guitar-shaped controller to follow along with the music being performed on the screen. As the notes slide down the screen, push the corresponding button on the guitar's neck while strumming the paddle with the other hand. Getting involved in simulated play of your favorite songs gets addictive. Fast.In earlier editions of the game, many songs were performed by cover bands. With the latest installment of Guitar Hero, "Legends of Rock", many famous bands came aboard so that you're playing along with the songs actually performed by the artists.
A few examples of the diversified group of bands are Kiss, Metallica, the Beastie Boys, the Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, Weezer, the Smashing Pumpkins, Living Colour and Heart.
For many, I imagine it lets fulfill the rock star dream for a few moments. Jam out hit songs on your guitar while the audience goes wild? Yes, please.

This song is played with Really fast speedy guitar picking, known as "speed picking". the song has two solos, both really fast (hyperspeed), really long (about 1 minute? each), and really good/ awesome (It may take a few seconds to get used to their incredible speed, but when you are adjusted you will realize that it is actually quite melodical, although it will gain volume later in the song)."

Whenever Guitar Hero presents a challenging song, do a search for Ben and that song on YouTube. He's sure to be there. On some songs, he doesn't even look at the screen. If those buttons on the guitar corresponded a bit more to playing actual chords, Ben would be considered quite gifted.
