Raceway Park is happy to announce Shakedown at E'town 6 will be held on Saturday & Sunday, October 4 & 5, 2008. This two day event will feature three qualifiers on Saturday for Pro Outlaw, Outlaw 10.5, Heavy Street & Drag Radial. Eliminations on Sunday will include these four classes competing in 32 car fields. Additional information will be posted shortly.

Old Bridge Township Raceway Park has a rich history of hardcore heads-up door slammer racing. Some folks might remember when the Top Sportsman and Pro Modified classes were in their infancy, E'Town was immediately a popular stomping ground for those trail-blazing catagories. Then Raceway Park started its very own heads-up door slammer program that evolved into what we now know as the notorious and glorious Ultra Quick 8! This class of "street appearing" muscled-up vehicles always prove to provide us with edge-of-your-seat heads-up doorslammer racing. The competition is nothing short of fierce, and that's putting it lightly! It's a dog-eat-dog grappling battle royale of the northeast's best 7-second Outlaw race teams.

Ultra Quick 8 racing features a variety of heads-up machinery, running a variety of motor combinations. There's naturally aspirated cars, along with nitrous-assisted power plants, turbo charged and supercharged entries, all battling for points, cash and bragging rights. Despite the variation of performance combinations, the class maintains incredibly close parity, keeping all competitors enthralled in heated competition. Will 2007's Ultra Quick 8 champion Cheman Brothers be able to once again dominate in 2008? Or will raucous racers like Richard Fedorovich, Joe Newsham, Craig Pio and Richard Scioscia be knocking the Cheman Bros off their coveted thrown? Be sure to be right here at Raceway Park to see for yourself! This is the kind of racing the founding fathers of the sport intended for drag racing to be! Two cars at a time racing from a standing start, leaving on the green bulb at the same time in an all-out battle to the finish! There's three big dates in our 2008 Ultra Quick 8 points series. Mark your calendars now for April 27, June 29, and August 31. Plus there will be invitation-only Ultra Quick 8 fields competing at Raceway Park's big June 7th, July 9th and August 6th summer spectaculars.

The northeast's premier drag racing facility has been undergoing a facelift during the winter break before our 2008 season. The main improvement is an additional 278' of concrete to each lane of the drag strip, making the first 700' of the track all concrete.

Englishtown, NJ February 7, 2008 -- The past few months at Raceway Park have been extremely busy, though not a single car has gone down the track. Major facility improvements are under way during our annual winter break, helping to keep Raceway Park as one of the top motorsports venues in the country.

The most noticeable improvement is the addition of several hundred feet of concrete to our racing surface, and a new, longer burnout box. The concrete portion will now make up more than the first 700' of racetrack. Look for fast times at this year's NHRA SuperNationals, as well as a great racing surface all year long.

The scale booth has also been completely redone, now boasting a sliding glass door and new exterior. The parking lot near the lake has also been extended with an expansive parking addition, aiming to relieve congestion during larger events.

Track improvements are nearing completion, and Old Bridge Twp. Raceway Park is ready for opening day, taking place this year on Saturday, March 1st.
