Dramatic Influence New Zealand

You may ask... what's this lens about. So... Here's whaazzup.

We are a group of Maori young people from New Zealand, under the leadership of Dramatic Influence New Zealand founder, Fred Cooper. We are aged between 15-28.

We travel through the United States, Canada and Hawaii promoting a positive message of "Being proud to be Native", "It's cool to stay in school", and How to "BE FREE: Drug-free, Smoke-free, Alcohol-free and Violence-free!"

We do this through our cultural dance, hip-hop, sign-language, rap, and drama. Our way of reaching the youth of today in a good and positive way!!!

We have 3 Native American Youth from the Muckleshoot Tribe (in Washington State) traveling and dancing with us. They have lived with us in New Zealand for the past 6 months, learning our ways, our culture, songs, and traditional dances. It's been an exciting experience!

We look forward to the next several months of traveling and presenting our program to schools and tribes. We hope to make a difference with the youth of today and leaders of tomorrow, showing that we can walk a good walk: stay clean and sober, stay in school, and teach by example. WE CAN DO IT! AND YOU CAN DO IT, TOO!

Hang out with us here, and see what's coming up next!!!

Dramatic Influence NZ Team Arrive in Idaho

Dramatic Influence NZ 2007 Team has just arrived in Idaho on Saturday October 13th, and are ready to rock Idaho and minister to the youth of Plummer, Worley and Coeur D'Alene tomorrow afternoon at the Wellness Centre at 4 PM!

West Coast leg of the Journey

We are brothers and sisters - Native Americans, First Nations, and Maori

Dramatic Influence New Zealand has enjoyed presenting to the Tribes of Washington State West Coast region: Makah, Quinault, Quilleute, and Lower Elwha Tribes.

We will be crossing into Canada soon. A funny thing happened, leaving Elwha, when we were trying to go across to Victoria, B.C. Canada from Port Angeles - the Ferry was too full, so we had to wait for the next ferry - the next day. So we decided to make the best of it and have fun visiting with the Elwha Tribal Community members, and taking a tour of their tribal lands.

It is exciting to learn about the Tribes and other Indigenous and First Nations people of the US and Canada. We have a very strong connection, because, basically we are the same... even if we live on the other side of the world... we are still brothers and sisters.

Very nice lens. Does your group tour the US and Canada every year? How can people book you into schools?
