More Than Wallpaper
The first time I saw drawer liners, I thought, "It's just a gimmick to sell more wallpaper!" So I decided to investigate, and it turns out that drawer liners do a lot to protect your clothing from bugs and coloration from old or overly-varnished wooden drawers.(Unfortunately, drawer liners do NOT protect against ostriches.)
Benefits of Drawer Liners
- Create a barrier between clothing and wooden drawers, protecting them from coloration.
- Most are white or very light colors, thus preventing coloration from the liners themselves.
- Most (if not all) liners are made of acid-free paper which prevents yellowing. Non acid-free paper can cause whites to turn yellow.
- Most contain tiny amounts of tannin and clove oil, both of which discourage bugs from entering the drawers and destroying your clothes.
- If you prefer, some are scented with essential oils (common scents are lavender, orange, rose, lemon) to keep your clothing smelling fresh.
