Drawn to Life

A listing of the Drawn to Life games, with reviews, videos, and helpful links.

Drawn to Life is an innovative action/adventure platforming game series from 5th Cell and THQ. Players are able to draw key elements of the game, including their hero.

For the storyline arc, the original Drawn to Life is the first, The Next Chapter for Wii is second, and The Next Chapter for DS is third. The Spongebob edition is a spinoff.

Drawn to Life

for Nintendo DS

The village is being swallowed up by the encroaching darkness, and their precious book of creation has been stolen. A villager cries out to the Creator for help, and this is where you come in. Design your hero and help the villagers recover their book and fend off the darkness.

This is one of the most fun platform games I've played in ages.

Drawn to Life won IGN's "Best of 2007" award for Most Innovative Design and was nominated for many other "Best ofs" that year.

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter

for Nintendo Wii

Artifacts from around the village are disappearing. Track them down and uncover the plot behind the thefts.

Drawing on the Wii is much more difficult than the DS, in my opinion and experience, but templates can save the day. As far as gameplay goes, it's a fun platformer. If you're thinking of picking this up for a child, some parental help is needed with reading for beginning readers.

My kids love Drawn to Life, and get a kick out of seeing their creations appear in the game. And I appreciate that they have a fun game to play that engages their creativity and problem solving (with no gore!).

There is a multi-player sports arena in the village, allowing a little party gaming. Team players and equipment can be customized or drawn.

Unlike the Original, and The Next Chapter for DS, which were developed by 5th Cell, the Wii version was developed by Planet Moon Studios.

The Next Chapter for DS

An old nemesis has returned, the world is losing color, and you are again called upon to save the village.

This edition offers the ability to draw multi-limbed creatures as your hero, allowing more possibilities for your character. Play as an animal, alien, or whatever you imagine and draw. You can share your creations with friends who have the game, too.

Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition

for DS

A clumsy artist drops some magic pencils into the ocean. Patrick finds one and draws something forbidden, which comes to life. This forbidden thing steals the pencil and runs away to cause mischief.

As with all Drawn to Life games, players can create their own hero and other game elements. This edition includes an ability to create your own customizable home. Rather than killing or destroying enemies, they are stunned and can be turned to friends or allies. The setting is Bikini Bottom.

This spinoff is based on the Spongebob episode "Frankendoodle"
