Ah, Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Phineas and Ferb's resident bad guy is not your ordinary mad scientist. Heinz Doofenshmirtz is a neurotic, divorced, lonely, regular-guy mad scientist - with low self-esteem issues. He has a teenage daughter who's continually trying to prove to her mother that her dad's an evil scientist. He has a real problem with lawn gnomes. And he has a love-hate relationship with his nemesis, Perry the Platypus.
There hasn't been another character in a long time that's made the adults in the household laugh out loud at a kids' show. (Shhh... don't tell: I'll sit and watch it even if the kids aren't around!) Long live Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated!

- He is divorced, with an ex-wife who pays him alimony and a teenage daughter who doesn't take an interest in the "family business".
- He had a rough childhood. His parents made him dress as a lawn gnome and stand motionless in the garden. And they named their dog "Only Son".
- All his evil schemes are foiled by... a secret agent platypus.
- The names of his evil inventions almost all end in "inator". This is after his very first invention, named simply "Inator".

Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Agent P. (Perry the Platypus), his nemesis, have sort of a love/hate relationship. Although constantly trying to capture or foil each other's plans, they'll also help each other out and be civil to one another on occasion.
When Dr. Doofenshmirtz got a new nemesis, Peter the Panda, it was very difficult on both Doof and Perry, and they eventually worked out their problems on the Dr. Feelgood Show.

- Yep, have met Dr. Doofenshmirtz. And like others of my grandson's cartoon choices, all it took to love the show was to watch it. Over and over. LOL But, I am a fan. Very entertaining.

- We LOVE Phineas & Ferb, and you have done a wonderful job with Dr. D. on this lens. We have the P&F soundtrack and we listen to it in the car with our kids. :-)
