Dredging in Meureudu!

I am in seventh semester now. Usually this is the time for the student to look for the construction project and work there. I am an engineer-to be and my sector is hydro-engineer. So, I have to find a place that i can work there as a hydro-engineer. After 2 months I could not find the place. But one day, my friend invited me to go to Meureudu with him. He told me there was a hydro project there, about sediments dredging in Meureudu Beach. Meureudu can be reached about more than 2 hours from Banda Aceh (the place I am living now). We got there rode my friend's motorcycle. What a tiring trip.
The main purpose of this dredging is to reach needed depth level (about -5 meters from min sea level). Because there will be used as a road line of big boat, and if the depth is too shallow, the boat could not across it.

First day: Nice trip. Introduction.

Excavator dredged a lot of sediments!

When I was in Meureudu (My first time actually), I saw two excavator machine in each big pontoon dredged sediments in estuary. In the middle of estuary i could see a boat with a drill. I was excited about that all. Because that was the first time i entered in a field of project. I walked a long the jetty to see all interesting things.

Two hours later, The Man who's in charge came and ask us to check the pontoon loads. We checked and he ask us some question about how the pontoon's doing. I could see a satisfied face on him. And that's what we did there in the first day.

Second day: Seasick. Too hot here!

Broken Boat and fell dizzy

The second day. This is the hottest day, It reach 39 degrees in Celcius. I wore the same clothes like yesterday, it has long sleeves. I continued my work counting the pontoon's load. Such a hot day. I forgot to bring my hat, and the result was my neck burned by the sun and my face became red.
Poor me..
In this day, I tried to be on the drilled-boat. I got there by little pontoon (I was scared of falling to the water). When I got there, We (me and my friends) checked the boat because it did not work for an hour. After I asked the man in charge on the boat, he told me that the drill was stuck because of trash in the bed of the estuary. In the next 30 minutes, the engine worked again. The sediments that drilled would be suck the machine and dumped to the land. I went to the edge of the estuary again and continue my work again.
I spend my time till 4.00 PM like that. And then We went back to Sigli on 4.30 PM.
