Meet Harry Dresden - Wizard for Hire... Doing the Job Nobody Else Wants to Do

If you don't know who Harry Dresden is... then you probably have been stuck in a cave for the past few years. The pity party is a few doors to your left.

But let's just move on here...

You see, Harry Dresden is a wizard with a past. For a while his life was on balance... but what am I talking about? He is always getting in trouble!

He says that he is trying to protect us all... well suuurrree! Reading each of The Dresden Files books in series... (So far Jim Butcher wrote 10 of 'em)... Harry is always getting in trouble. And you wonder why he has any friends left!

And talking about friends... Harry hasn't done so well in the girlfriend department very much. In fact, his talking skull, Bob gets a little more action than Harry does. Geez!

Pretty pathetic you would think huh? Well, don't you worry about a thing... Jim Butcher makes everything right... uh... eventually!

In the meantime, Harry is going from one adventure to another. It seems like the whole supernatural world is always just pissed off at him...

And why? Harry tries to mind his own business. Well, when he isn't digging into other people's business of course. Oh, I didn't tell you? Why, Harry is a private detective. A wizardly private detective (say that 10 times real fast). And of course Harry has scruples. He will never, ever do love portions. Not even if you put him in a pot of boiling oil...

Ever! Unless of course Bob tricked him to making a batch of love portion and then a beautiful woman he was on a date with... drank the said love portion by accident while they were under attack by a deadly demon... talk about wrong timing. And yeah... it was a very difficult and tense situation. But don't you worry here... Harry did fine.

So without further ado... I introduce you to The Dresden Files. Considered yourself warned... The Dresden Files is addicting if you love the fantasy genre.

I still don't know why they canceled The Dresden Files after 1 season. The acting was very good and the show had so much potential...

In a way, I wonder if this TV show will be the next Star Trek?

    The reason the show was cancelled was that Jim Butcher had given SciFi(Syfy...whatever) permission to do his show with one stipulation-none of the episodes would be based on the books. They were to be completely different...and 2 if not 3 of the episodes were direct stories from the books, one even having the same episode title as the first book in the series. therefore Butcher said yeah...guess what...you lose...which meant, thanks to syfy...we lose.

    Dresden Files is one of my favorites; I'm reading Turn Coat now. Have you read any of Butcher's Codex Alera? A bit different as it is more traditional type fantasy but not half bad.

    Cool lens Matt! And you are so right about that. I was literally crushed when Scifi stopped the program after the first year.
