What to Wear to a Wedding - Must Know Information Before Buying any Dress for a Wedding

If you are planning to attend a wedding there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. As much as you want to look fabulous and stunning, it is extremely important that you never attempt to upstage the bride. This may seem frivolous, but there are many women who are notorious for trying to look better than the bride does and as much as it may be fun to steal the bride's thunder, it can be a very hurtful thing to do. So in this spirit, there are a few things that you can do to ensure that you blend in well, while still wearing a beautiful dress.
The bride of course will have the choice of selecting her dress, and at the same time it is her decision over what the wedding bridesmaid dresses and flower girl wedding dresses will look like. The only people who truly get to have a huge say in what they wear are the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom. You may wonder what makes these people so special that they are allowed to veto the strange pea green dress that the bride is eyeing, but honestly it is because they are the parent and can be counted on to typically still follow the bride's example.

As much as it may be difficult, the bride is likely to still encourage their wishes even for the bridal mother dresses and mother of groom dresses. Yet for those who are part of the wedding party you are still left with the task of following the brides wishes. This honestly can make the job of deciding what to wear to a wedding much simpler. It is those who must select their own appropriate wedding apparel that have a much harder time. As much as this may sound strange, it is important to ensure that guests wedding dresses are not overly loud, attention seeking or even dramatic if you will.

The person who shows up in a hot pink mini dress to a formal wedding is generally seeking attention and will often steal attention from the bride. A much better choice for guest wedding dresses is to choose something in a very light print, or preferably a solid color in a classical styling. This will allow you to still look beautiful while not over shadowing the bride. Additionally, the best colors are those that are fairly light and muted. For example, pastels and neutrals work beautifully. However, colors such as electric blue, racing red, lime green and even hot pink may be best left for a different occasion.

Ensuring that you select a beautiful dress that is appropriate may seem like a rather boring task. But by being considerate and careful about your choice for guest wedding dresses you are sure to have the perfect dress that you love, without upstaging the bride at all. After all, with some help you can dress for a wedding like a professional and still look gorgeous no matter what you are wearing.
