Artist Statement.
...Some artsy jibber-jabber.
I am Drew Davis, a 22 year-old artist. I live on California's Central Coast.My painting is an extension of myself; The psychological outbursts of my imagination ( phantasmagoria ). I challenge and push myself to as close to the edge as possible. An attempt to break into the subconscious mind; a flooding of unprovoked pigment spilt onto the canvas with intense care. Rapidly changing ideas stream through brush bristles. A touch of humor, and and a twist of gloom. I paint in the same way a chef might also prepare a fine, three course meal. Your apatite for the risky, and fiery modern taste will be quenched by these visual color feasts. I am forced to create for the looming fear of losing the momentum of myself and slipping into the cold colorless abyss.
