in reply to MSpublishing Thanks for posting your opinions about my message on this forum. In reply to MS publishing ,the answer is this .What is the TOP GRADE any instructor can achieve ? The answer is a TOP grade which is a grade 6.There is NO higher grade SO that has to be the top grade. In reply to adriving instructor who does not want to publish his name,(I dont hide behind any other name),its all depends on how well the NEW instructor has been trained,as to how well he can instruct, deal with people ,run his book ,plan his work ,and above all be truthfull to his pupils.I have allways been honest with all my pupils ,when they finish a lesson they get a good debrief and know how GOOD they are AND where they need to improve .I will not present any one for test who is not ready,AND believe me when you have sat in driving schools cars as an Examiner you would be AMAZED at the standards of some instructors. If my pass rate is 85% as stated are you saying I dont know what I am doing ?

With all due respect. Your attitude regarding other driving instructors disturbs me. Every instructor begins some where and if there was such a high emphasis on the gradeing which influenced whether an instructor was chosen to instruct, there would never be a new generation. An arguement could also be put forward to say, an instructor who's been instructing for years may be set in his one way of teaching, i.e in relation to the new generation of students attitudes and life style. Also that a newly passed instructor offers a more enthusiastic attitude toward teaching and will have a better understanding of the teat process due to having recently experienced it themselves. There are many ways of looking at what makes a good instructor or not and it certainly isn't reliant soley on his/her gradeing.

in reply to Phills-Driving-School Hello fellow Instructor.I am an Ex Driving Examiner, and a Top grade 6 instructor,of over 47 years experience.teaching HGV plus B E drivers.I have heard so many lies from instructors in Test Centre,s regarding their grades that I and I hope you would love to see Instructors Grades and results published in all Library,s..MY pass rate is 85% and i will send a DSA copy for you to see ,if you have an email address. The DSA published pass rates to EVERY instructor up to 31/03/03.Why they discontinued this service is unknown ,because the facts were there BUT instructors had always LOST theirs to back up their boasts.May I add that I am the earliest Instructor on the DSA register as ADI 1167 .Hope this was useful There is an instructor in my area bragging over 30 years as an Instructor.I know he has been a car salesman for years ,and he has ONLY JUST become registered as an Instructor. So why does he advertise 30 years experience ?

The best way for anyone to find a GOOD driving school is by word of mouth. In otherwords by someone who has PASSED THE DRIVING TEST 1ST TIME in a very short time who they had lessons with.ALWAYS ask the instructor his GRADE the BEST instructors are GRADE 6,also ask them theirPASS RATE .They ALL have a statement from the DRIVING STANDARDS AGENCY that PROVES their pass rate AND their grade.IF THEY WONT SHOW YOU THIS DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY TELL YOU.Go with an instructor who will show you.I am writing this as an EX driving examiner and a Grade6 instructor of 47 years, and I have been told more untruths by driving instructors about their ability and pass rate and grade than you could ever believe.
